kinect

Alistair de B Clarkson has got a Kinect controller and a Wiimote to talk over IP to a server that handles midi over IP (and forwards it to Ableton Live), with this solution multiple people can collaborate over wireless without any significant latency. The demo only has one of the instruments connected, the green bar at the side. The little horizontal lines across the bar are the lower stave (bass clef) and can active Midi Notes. The other box does nothing, instead a wiimote is used to tune synth parameters
Joshua Blake, OpenKinect Community Founder has come up with his own version of windows 7 multitouch using Depth-Camera on Kinect for hand tracking. The proof of concept video shows Bing Maps being controlled using Kinect. This will work on any multitouch application already written to be used on a touchscreen. The code that enables this is part of internal InfoStrat MotionFx project which Joshua Blake works on and he says they will eventually be open sourced, but needs a bit more work to be practical..
